A Contemporary Expression of Warmth
The journey of designing this villa began with its dramatic double-height entrance, a space of remarkable scale that naturally commanded attention. It called for a sculptural lighting piece that would not only anchor the volume but also set the tone for the spaces surrounding it, creating a strong yet elegant first impression. The brief was to create a home that felt warm, grounded and timeless, drawing on the natural textures of wood and the quiet beauty of the surrounding desert landscape.
Rich wooden finishes, a fireplace and a warm natural palette bring depth to the living space where a sculptural bonsai becomes the room’s defining feature. In the dining area, a custom banquette and bespoke lighting over the kitchen island lend a sense of intimacy and craftsmanship.
We had the pleasure of designing an ocean-inspired nursery on the first floor which offers a lighter, more playful moment within the home. Custom wallcoverings introduce character and imagination, creating a space that delights children while remaining thoughtfully designed for the family. And In contrast, the family office, master suite and a family living area are defined by a more understated aesthetic, where carefully curated materials and clean architectural lines establish a sense of calm and permanence.
Completing this home was immensely rewarding. Knowing it now serves as the backdrop to the family’s everyday life is, ultimately, the greatest measure of its success. It is a lasting reminder that thoughtful design is meant to be experienced, not simply admired.
